Families will once again be able to grab a blanket and some lawn chairs, head to Port Dalhousie and take in a movie under the stars this summer.

Another season of Moonlight Flicks is set to return in July, this time on a new night. Now taking place on Thursdays, the outdoor movies in Rennie Park are all rated PG, free to attend and start at dusk.

The season kicks off July 5 with Despicable Me 3, followed by Spy Kids on July 12, Cars 3 on July 26, The Lorax on Aug. 2, Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Aug. 16, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on Aug. 23, and The Sandlot on Aug. 30.

New this year will be pre-movie trivia from That’s Entertainment.

In the event of rain, the movies will be screened the following Tuesday in Rennie Park.

Moonlight Flicks is presented by PGG Media Group in partnership with the City of St. Catharines. Community partners have sponsored each screening, including Mark’s No Frills, REACT (Niagara Region Public Health), Your Niagara Home Team, St. Catharines clean city advisory committee, Brock University, Ridley College and FirstOntario Credit Union.
